Leading the Way

RMBA has been a vital part of our horse community for more than twenty years. Whether we’re educating riders, providing competition opportunities, or promoting stallions and breeders, our goal is to be an asset to like-minded horsemen and horsewomen.

As a Montana-based nonprofit organization, we rely on the support of our members, volunteers, and sponsors to make our operations possible. Not a member yet? Let’s fix that!

“R.I.S.E. to the Standards”

The Rocky Mountain Breeders Association (RMBA) is a friendly and supportive horse breeders association that’s prime objective is to develop, promote, and market quality stock and performance horses. Also, we strive to educate our members, and the public, through clinics and seminars in an atmosphere where individuals can learn, have fun, develop relationships, and encourage each other.

Julia has been involved with RMBA since 2006. She took a break from showing for 9 years, but came back to showing in RMBA shows in 2021.

In Julia’s words, “RMBA is here for everyone. You will never meet a more open and welcoming horse show association in Montana and I'm thrilled at the opportunity to get more involved! I've been an officer on multiple associations and non-profit boards and know how much work it is but also how rewarding it can be! It's a responsibility I take seriously and look forward to being able to give a little bit back to the group that's done so much for me.”

Do Good & Be Seen

Terrific sponsors have long been part of the RMBA success story, and their support helps the us offer more events in more locations. Originally founded by breeders for breeders as an association to help market the quality horses found in member programs, the association enjoys strong support from breeders and other equine enthusiasts.

Why Become a Sponsor?

Benefits of sponsorship include: coverage on the RMBA website, including a link to your business if one is available; coverage on social media; listing at the annual Awards Banquet. Sponsors also receive display space and a mention at each of the shows during the show itself.

(Sponsors are encouraged to provide a weather-proof banner advertising their business to display in arenas during events.)

We are a unique association with a diversity of membership. Remaining true to our origins, we promote breeders’ programs through our website, advertising, social media, as well as our biggest breeder promotion and fundraising event, the annual Stallion Service Auction. We take pride that members’ programs have found success from the show pen to the rodeo arena, from ranch work to recreation.

RMBA also hosts a Ranch Horse Competition series that offers classes suited for all levels and ages of horses and riders including classes designed specifically for youth. Most classes have Year End Awards attached for members who show in a minimum of 50 percent of offered shows. The RMBA doesn’t stop at offering affordable and family-appropriate horse events. The association holds an “Intro to Ranch Horse Clinic” each spring that serves a variety of interests.
