Anita moved onto the family cattle ranch (since 1883) in December 1973.
She had her first Appaloosa mare bred in 1976. John and Anita's goal is
to breed sound ranch horses that can compete successfully in the show
arena. Their breeding has focused on producing working horses that will
also do well in working cow horse, reining, trail, and games classes.
The Diamond Dot Ranch bought their first stallion, Colida's Echo as a
yearling in 1978. His first foal is now 23 and their grandson's riding
horse. Most of the present brood mares are his daughters or
granddaughters. His get have national points in steer daubing, working
cow horse, reining, non-pro trail, heritage, pleasure driving, lead
line, barrels, poles, figure 8, keyhole, and rope race.

In 2002, a 20 year old son and 11 year old daughter received ROM's in rope race.

Four of his get have placed in the top 10 or top 5 at World.

One has been the ACAAP Grand Master in Judged Trail Rides.
Currently they stand two young black stallions, Colida Diatana Iron and
Royal Zipper. Their foals are just starting to be worked and shown. They
have shown well in in-hand-trail, working cow horse, and reining. With
limited showing the stallions have National and ACAAP points in halter,
heritage, western pleasure, trail, and judged trail rides.
Other Diamond Dot horses have placed in the top 5 at World and been
ACAAP reining Grand Master. Our horses have ACAAP points in halter,
western pleasure, games, trail, judged trail rides, driving, cutting,
reining, and working cow horse.
Besides sound working horses, we select on temperament. Our horses are
people-friendly and enjoy traveling and seeing new countryside. They are
willing workers, intelligent, and eager to please, which makes the
horses easy to train.
