Our ranch is located on the site of the old mining town
of Cokedale, just outside of Livingston, Montana.
The ranch has been in the family for seven generations
and is at the foothills of the Gallatin Mountain range,
just outside of Yellowstone Park. Just as our
horses are foundation bred, so do our family roots go
back to the foundation of the Rocky Mountain region.
There are Native American Indians and pioneers and
explorers of Welsh, Danish and Irish heritage.
There
has been a spotted horse gracing our family for
multiple generations. It was only natural for us
to become breeders of this wonderful breed. Our
children and grandchildren are active with our program
to produce and promote this breed of great versatility.
Heritage Appaloosas has 380 acres of mountain pastures
for our broodmares and foals to become strong and
sure-footed and evolve into all-round performance
horses. They share this rugged terrain with a
wealth of deer, elk, bear, cougar and wolves. Our
horses weather well and don't have much pampering; they
have clear, willing minds and stamina to perform all day
long. There are many ApHC legends in our breeding
program's background and we strive to produce that
all-round using horse that has been heralded in the
past. Attractive, willing and colored; our
horses are able to do any task and do it with verve!
Both of our stallions are in the Montana ApHC State
Stallion Raffle, and they and their get can be viewed
most any time. Roger is on the ranch on a full
time basis. Contact us for more information anytime! |
