Buster,
Helen, BJ and Jack Brown welcome you to BNH Quarter
Horses! We are a working cattle and horse ranch
located in the Sweetgrass Hills of north central
Montana with 100 years of western heritage. The
ranch has been owned and operated by four
generations of Brown's, and our boys, BJ and Jack
are the fifth generation. BJ and Jack are competing
in High School Rodeo on our BNH horses and we use
horses for our cattle work on the ranch as well.
Through the years, raising and training Quality
working cowhorses has been our main goals. Since our
horses have been such a significant part of the
ranch, we have developed a breeding program that
gives us the type of horse that can put in a full
day on the ranch and still be competitive in the
performance arena.
We have proven our ranch horses are of this quality
by producing Snaffle Bit and Reining Futurity
winners, Barrel Racing Futurity finalists, High
School Rodeo winners, an NFR Team Roping qualifier,
Certificate of Abilities in NCHA cuttings, ROM's in
AQHA Reining, top award winners in 4-H competitions
on the local and state level, cowy ranch horses and
recreational pleasure horses.
We believe that raising these outstanding horses
requires careful selection of stallions and strict
requirements for our
Broodmares.
Disposition, trainability, conformation, athletic
ability, pedigree and cow sense are all factors in
our selection process. With this in mind, our mares
have to prove their worth on the ranch and or in the
performance arena before they are considered for a
broodmare. Many of our mares are past performers or
have produced performers. Our older mares are from
the foundation bloodlines; Hancock, Skipper W,
Ambrose, Kitty Hawk, Ricky Taylor, Tom Pool and
Smith McKee. The younger broodmares area by many of
our old mares and out of our more recent stallions;
Driftwood Doc, Two Fox Chaparral and Sonitas Bo San.
Our current studs, Driftwoods Devil and Feature
Tonto are featured on the
Stallions
page, please check them out.
If you have any questions about our operation or you
have any training question please email us and we'll do
our best to help you out.
